Encore Games is a game development company headquartered in Dubai with a development office in Minsk. Armed with the best practices and innovation, we deliver next-generation gaming experiences and a high-tech infrastructure for game developers.

Our debut project is Encore Metaverse – a free-to-play AAA multiplayer shooter game with NFT assets built on Unreal Engine. The game allows users not only to dive into a shooter adventure with world-class visuals but also get actual ownership of in-game purchases, create and trade player’s own NFTs, use the in-game staking mechanism to invest in digital real estate and much, much more.

We are looking for a visionary Senior Character Artist to help take our in-game Metaverse characters to the next level.

What You Will Do:

The character artist plays a critical role in top-tier video game creation. In the context of our games, this person is responsible for creating the cast of characters that populate our game’s universe. Our character artists are dynamic and efficient modelers with exceptional sculpting and texturing skills, able to create best-in-class content with an imagination that is constantly in motion. We develop amazing character models based on scan data or photo references and transform them into out-of-this-world game characters.

Requirements:

  • Industry experience of character creation production
  • Prior experience leading character art teams including visual targets, asset creation processes and partnerships with Art Directors
  • Working experience with External Development partners (setup, communication, feedback)
  • Expert in high-fidelity 3D modeling / sculpting techniques, along with high-poly to low-poly surface/detail baking
  • Expert-level modeling experience with Maya and ZBrush
  • Hyper-skilled in texturing with Substance Painter and Photoshop with an overall emphasis on realism (Substance Designer is a plus)
  • Knowledgeable about PBR workflows and how to replicate real-world materials
  • Experienced in working with content-driven game engines (e.g. Unreal, Frostbite, Unity)
  • Able to visualize in three-dimensions and work from limited reference material / concept art
  • Gifted with a sense of proportion and composition with an eye for surface, colour and detail

Portfolio Requirements:

  • Photo-real character modeling and texturing–hair, clothing, anatomy, likeness, etc. showing UV layout and all maps
  • Concept-Model experience is a plus
